No Need for a Business Card anymore! But you may want to carry a small marketing card.

I have been conversing about the importance of business cards for years. It started in 1993 with the forming of the Aggie Roundtable and the Aggie Job Network. My friends and I would help young graduates and those in transition connect with others, teach them about informational interviews, how to use the telephone and the importance of having a business card. I’d tell them “There are three things that make you a professional: 1) Education and Experience 2) your Attitude and 3) a Business Card.” But as technology has become more pervasive in our society, the reasons to carry business cards have diminished. Some say you don’t need to carry business cards; if that is true, then what might you choose to carry instead of a business card?

Social Media: The Game Changer

It’s a well known fact. The world of journalism is changing, especially the ways in which we find stories and publish them.
Social media such as Facebook and Twitter have unlimited power. Twitter is now a source for breaking news stories and the most immediate way to report what’s going on. In most cases, celebrities and government officials make public statements via Twitter. Facebook has the capability to create a community of individuals who have never met but believe in the same cause. Take the Egyptian protests for example. Most of the credible news organizations, such as CNN and the BBC, used Facebook and Twitter to report what was going on in the action that they personally couldn’t reach.

Could Airships Return to Service

I remember begin a kid and driving by the Good Year Blimp hangar in Conroe Texas, on our way to Houston. Sometime we would stop if it was taking off or landing to watch its graceful movements. But I have not seen a Blimp or Airship for many years now, yet they may return to service before long. There have been many changes in materials, technology and the transportation industry that may make Hybrid Airship usage viable again.
